tony gonzalez-3-831x1024Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27 in 1976) was a former American football tight end who was a part of the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. He is considered one of the top tight ends in history, and currently is the most effective NFL tight end in terms of receiving yards and receptions for tight ends. Gonzalez also ranks third in the number of receptions he has. Gonzalez was chosen in the first round of the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent his first 12 season with the team. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons for five of his last seasons. Since his retirement in 2013, Gonzalez has served as an analyst on football for NFL on Prime Video and was previously with CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez was a career-high 14 Pro Bowl selections, the most for a tight end and second most in league history, in addition to receiving six first-team All-Pros. Gonzalez was known for his toughness and ability to not fumble. He was a part of 272 games during the regular season and had only two fumbles with 1,327 touches. He was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2019.
